Abstract Identification mark with the same color hue and the different color saturation degree as that in background is set on the blue screen of studio. The identification mark is so encoded that its characteristic point is either gravity center for zonal mark or stripe edge node for netted stripe mark. Each mark determines one unique binary code comprinsing N marks and N-1 intervals, and the image coordinates in characteristic points are obtained via taking the image of performer with identification mark and background screen with a video camera. The world coordinates of the characteristic points are obtained from their image coordinates and codes, and inner and outer parameters of video camera are calculated from their image coordinates and the world coordinates and used in controlling virtual cameras to reach the virtual studio effect.
