Abstract A nm-class multifunctional composite film is prepared from nanometer powder and the salt or alkoxide of Si, Al, or Zr as main raw material through the sol-gel process. A layer of film modified by nanometer particles is fomed on the surface of metal, ceramic, glass, or organic high-molecular material and its thickness is 20nm-5 microns. The said film has the anti-rubbing, antiwear, anticorrosion, antioxidizing, flame-retarding and wave-absorbing functions.
