Abstract The high elastic screw carbon fiber is prepared with hydrocarbon with small amount of dissolved impurity and through chemical gaseous deposition in H2/N2 atmosphere in the presence of metal or its oxice as catalyst and S and P containing impurities. The process features that controls the gas flow rate of C2H2/H2=0.17-0.25 and C2H2/N2=0.5-1, the temperature of 700-800 deg.c, and the product has a spiral pipe diameter of 1-50 microns, a pitch of 0.01-5 microns and a elongatino of 1.1-20 times. Controlling the different reaction conditions can obtain product with different microscopic sizes. The fiber has structure similar to that of genetic factor PNA and has specific mechanical performance and electromagnetic performance.
