Abstract An impulse current modification method of hand saw blade is characterized by that after the saw blade is hardened, it is undergone the process of impulse current treatment, the discharge period is 50-500 microseconds, maximum peak current density 1-20X10 to the power 5 A/sq.cm, and duration of single pulse is 50-5000 microseconds. This invention possesses the following advantages of that after the saw blade is modified, it not only retains the required high hardness, but also the saw blade possesses better toughness.
