Abstract The present invention relates to the indirect measurement of solid material flow rate by means of the measurement of heat transfer property between solid material and measuring element. By using a test pipe, through which water, air or other fluid medium passes, as well as temperature and flow rate sensors as measuring elements and based on the relationship between the heat absorption or evolution of the fluid through the test tube and the medium flow rate and solid material flow rate, the present invention displays the flow rate of solid material directly in a secondary meter. The method is not affected by the measured object, installation equipment and other outer factor, and has reliable and high measurement accuracy. The present invention is especially suitable for flow rate measurement in circular fluid-bed boiler and other fluid-bed reactor as well as other single-phase downward flowing solid material.
