Abstract A method for producing potassium chloride by using potassium-contained rock and caustic sludge as raw material according to the ratio of I:0.5-2 is characterized by adding coal powder whose added quantity is 10-16 % of weight of potassium-contained rock, and adopting the procedures of making raw material pulp, drying, granulating, roasting and extracting KCl, CaCl2 and NaCl from the leaching liquor, washing and press-filtering residue to obtain engineering soil and solid dregs as raw materials for making building product. Said method can treat lots of caustic sludge, and can obtain KCl product and valuable industrial products.
