Abstract The preparation method of spherical or approximate spherical alumina particle is characterized by that it adopts the aluminium sol as anchoring agent, and utilizes the processes of spraying, atomizing and heat treatment to obtain said invented product. The monomer particle of said invented powder body is spherical or approximate spherical, and the grain size of starting powder material is less than 4 micrometers, and the alumina powder material whose grain size can be 2-200 micrometers can be obtained. Said invention features good mechanical strength, and its monomer particle can retain original form in the course of application. The described aluminium sol can be made up by utilizing alkoxide of aluminium, nitrate or boehmite (AIOOH) under the condition of a certain process.
