Abstract A technological process for preparing WC or composite alloy powder for making nanometer-grade superfine granule hard alloy by means of direct reduction and carbonation in the general tubular furnace includes the following steps: using nanometer-grade superfine WO3 or WO3-NiO-FeO powder produced by the atomizing thermal conversion process as raw material, mixing it with a certain quantity of carbon black powder, placing them in the general tubular furnace, firstly, introducing nitrogen gas as protective gas to making primary reduction at 600-800 deg.C, then introducing H2, closing nitrogen gas, heat-insulating for 40-120 min. at 800-1200 deg.C so as to obtain the invented powder whose mean grain size is less than or equal to 150 nm. Said process is simple, carbon content is easily controlled, powder property is stable, and grain size is fine.
