Abstract A process for preparing hydrogen (H2) features that the gas mixture of methane and (or) ethane and (or) propane and (or) butane takes part in catalytic oxidization reaction with CO2 and oxygen in the presence of catalyst Ni/Si-2 or Ni/gamma-Al2O3 modified by rare-earth and alkali-metal oxide, and the resultant goes through conversion reaction by water vapour and pressure swing adsorption or membrane separation to obtain H2. Its advantages are high conversion (about 100%) of C2H6, C3H8 and C4H10, low energy consumption and high selectivity of H2.
