Abstract The present invention features that the standard computer keyboard is re-defined via the Scroll Lock key. By depressing the Scroll Lock key to make the keyboard enter the re-definition function locking state and the corresponding pilot lamp to lit to indicate the re-definition state, the MCU chip captures the key depressing signal and compares with the re-definition function list, before feeding the signal or signal sequence of the re-defined key or key combination in the memory to the computer to complete the re-definition of the key functions. Depressing the re-definition functional locking key once more, the keyboard will exit from the re-definition state and the corresponding pilot lamp goes out, and the keyboard is restored into communication keyboard operation. The present invention expands the application function of keyboard without altering the standard keyboard.
