AbstractA transversely aligned web (18) is produced by aligning filaments spun at a high rate. Initially, a melted resin is extruded downwardly from a spinning nozzle. A primary airflow at a high temperature is blown off from an annular primary airflow nozzle. The extruded melted filament is vibrated by the primary airflow. A secondary airflow at a high temperature is blown off from a secondary airflow nozzles. The secondary airflows blown off from the pair of secondary airflow nozzles collide with each other below the spinning nozzle, spreading in the width direction of the conveyor, whereby the extruded melted filament is spread in the width direction of the conveyor. Thus, filaments deriving from solidifying the extruded melted filament can be spun at a spinning rate of 30000 m/min. or more. The resulting filaments are aligned in the width direction of the conveyor and piled on the conveyor.
