Abstract The object of the invention is to simultaneously raise the adhesion of an elastic yarn to a substrate while maintaining unwinding properties of the elastic yarn. This multifilament elastic yarn is obtained by dry spinning an elastic polymer and has a flat cross section of >=2 ratio (Ll/Ls) of the long side (Ll) to the short side (Ls) of a rectangle circumscribed with the filament cross section of the elastic yarn. Furthermore, unevennesses are preferably formed by an outer shape of the single filaments on the surface of the elastic yarn and the length ratio (L1/L2) of the perimeter (L1) of the rectangle circumscribed with the filament cross section of the elastic yarn to the perimeter (L2) of the filament cross section of the elastic yarn has <=0.9 degree of the unevennesses.
