Abstract An electricity-leakage detection method for electric appliance, wherein the solving means of present invention connects an electrode between capacitors 38 and 39 mounted on a commercial AC power supply 34 to a casing 21 so as to adapt ground potential, on the casing 21 provided with a ground line 21a which is grounded on the user side. A DC power supply of a DC circuit 36 is provided by a voltage division resistor 60 connected between the power input side on windings 33u, 33v, 33w of a washer motor 33 given by the main circuit 44 of an inverter and the ground line. The control circuit 47 will then use the voltage Vk of the voltage division resistor 60 to inspect the electric leakage occurred on the washer motor 33 portion by an off-time inspection on the washer motor 33. The method has the advantages such as saving power, simple structure, and reliable testing etc.
