Abstract A heat storage type of preheater with variable channel is composed of shell, energy-storing heat exchanger and combined heat generator. Said heat exchanger and said combined heat generators are alternatively and serially linked by rivets, and installed in shell. An open-close gate is made on the partitions of heat exchanger between two sets of heat generator. It can reliability start engine at -45 deg.C without influence to engine performance. The energy storage mode can provide the hot air enough to flly ignite engine and reduce exhaust of harmful gas.
