Abstract In a decomposition reaction furnace, sodium bicarbonate is made to decompose into heavy sodium carbonate with low salt and potassium content by using superheated steam or saturated steam as heating medium and at the conditions of 120-180 deg.c temperature, 0.1-0.6 MPa pressure and 6-16 hr reaction period. Carbon dioxide exhaused after decomposition is fed by self pressure into reaction tower to produce sodium bicarbonate. The present invention has the features of short technological process, low power consumption, low cost, high product quality and has less investment.
