Abstract The preparation process of iodine-125 seed source carrier rod for medical therapy includes the following steps: placing silver wire into the liquid mixture of hydrogen peroxide and hydrochloric acid in mole ratio of 7 : 6-7 : 12, making oxidation and chloration to form a covered deposit AgCl layer on the surface of silver wire, then making said silver wire and Na125 I solution react for 14-20 hr. under the condition of pH is equal to 4-7 to convert AgCl deposit into Ag125I deposit.
