Abstract The traffic sign warning system is formed from transmitter mounted on the road sign board and receiver mounted in vehicle. Said transmitter possesses two frequencies, and said receiver possesses frequency switch and indicator lamp. Its direction identification method is characterized by that the sign posts which are used for mounting sign board and positioned at two sides of the road are painted with red colour and yellow colour respectively, and respectively equipped with transmitter. When the colour of indicator lamp mounted on the receiver is identical to the colour of sign post at right side of road, the driver can listen to the speech warning information of sign board so as to make the running driver promptl know front traffic condition and ensure traffic safety.
